It was Michael's idea. It seems like everything awesome we do is his idea, which is why I'm glad that I have him as my personal tour guide. I tend to get stuck in a rut when it comes to fun and I land up doing the same things week after week. Praise God He brought some adventure into my life when I married this man, and an extra dose of adventure when the kids came along!
Finally, when everyone settled down for the night, I got to thinking about this wonderful husband I have and how he blesses me in so many ways. He's more than a tour guide, and far more than a lover and friend--he's the hand that I cling to when I'm lost in the dark, and the smile that reminds me I've never alone.
And so today I want to offer my thanks to him by telling him a few things--seven things to be exact. He doesn't always read my blog, but today I'm going to pull him over and make sure he does.
Perhaps it will encourage you to share a few of your own with your husband? Or maybe it will simply be a reminder of the many blessings you also have.
1. I'm proud of who you are - I could never tell you this enough. I'm proud to call you my husband and the father of our children. You're a good man whose character is the evidence of your unwavering faith in God.
2. You're an incredible father - I love our kids and the way they are growing in your footsteps. A day doesn't go by without me seeing a glimpse of you in each one of them, and it's awesome to see!
3. You're the best husband EVER - You are my best friend, my lover, and home to my heart. You are one of my greatest blessings from God, and your love is a gift that I open every day.
4. Thank you for your tireless effort - Your dedication to providing for us does not go unnoticed. Thank you for working without complaint and giving of yourself to your job every day.
5. We appreciate the little things you do - Rubbing my back at night, tucking me in when I'm tired, fixing little things around the house, bringing me chocolate, a kiss in the kitchen, watching one of my shows, listening to me talk about my day... and the list goes on... thank you for the many little things you do.
6. I want to grow old with you - If anyone were to ask me what I want to be when I grow up, I can say with all certainty that I want to be the one holding your hand.
7. I love you - Today, tomorrow, forever... you hold the key to my heart.
You are loved by an almighty God,

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this! I could say these exact 7 things to my husband. I am so blessed to have a wonderful, loving, God-fearing man in my life. Is he perfect? No, but he is my perfect-half! He is the good in me. He loves me unconditionally of this I have no doubt!! And because of it, I strive to be a better wife everyday! Thank you for sharing your blogs with us.
ReplyDeleteYou've read my mind, Darlene. I adore my husband so very much and he has blessed our children and me beyond imagining. Thank you for reminding me about letting him know how very much we appreciate him.
ReplyDeleteVery thoughtful post. I will try to say most of them today!
ReplyDeleteLove this! and I love that you talk about marriage on your blog.. so many people take a good relationship/marriage for granted, and don't even think about working to nurture it!!

As wife and mothers we sometimes get consumed with all the things we have to do. We sometimes forget to verbally build up our husbands more and not just vent to them.
ReplyDelete:) Love these lists. So sweet and so true!
ReplyDeleteSarah is right, we need these words.
