When I came across this quote I couldn't help but be reminded of the reasons why I fell in love with my husband. And yet if you were to ask me what they were I couldn't possibly list them all because his ways are countless.
Gratitude e has a powerful affect on our attitude and can change the dynamics of a marriage for good. The more we give strength to positive thoughts, our negative thoughts lose power.
The way he rubs my back at night
That he always finds me the minute he walks in the door for a hug and kiss
The way that he is able to read my mood in a split second
The fact that he wanted to buy me some chocolate tonight to perk me up
That he makes me tea when I'm not expecting it
The fact that he gets up early to spend time with the Lord
The way that he speaks to the children so that they listen the first time
His hilarious sense of humor
The way he holds his guitar
The sound of his voice on the phone
His smell
His listening ear
His sound advice
The way he looks in a dress shirt and tie
The way he holds my hand when he's driving
and my list goes on...
Now it's your turn. What are some of the tiny things your husband does that remind you why you love him? Would you like to share them with us? If so please do so in the comments. I'd love to hear them!
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18

I'm excited to do this for my wonderful man! I need to find a beautiful notebook and write all the reasons I am grateful for him. Thanksgiving is a day when no one expects to get a gift like this, so perfect timing. Thank you Darlene!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful idea!! I wish I would have picked up a nice one the other day when I saw it.
DeleteThe way he plays with our kids and can make them belt out in laughter.
ReplyDeleteThe way he looks at me and makes me feel like I'm the only one in the room.
How he willingly goes to work every night to provide for us.
God has truly blessed me with an amazing husband. I will take on this challenge! :)
Oh I especially love the first one. I can picture the laughter. Wow.
DeleteHe turns off the radio in the car when I speak. He has done this the entire 22 years we've been married and the year we were dating. I love my man
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet! It's really annoying when you're trying to talk and someone is yelling over the music, I can hear you...
DeleteThe way he always tries to make me laugh, even when I don't want to... The way he plays with our son, making him laugh, too... The way he leads worship in our churc every Sunday... The way he loves to talk about the things of God... And, if nothing else, the way he puts up with me, because the good Lord knows it takes a special individual to do so! ;)
ReplyDeleteAlana, he sounds like a strong spiritual leader. Awesome!
DeleteThank you for this great idea! You are an inspiration. I can't wait to start this for my amazing man :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I'm excited to continue mine too!
DeleteGreat Idea!! I am going to start tonight!
ReplyDeleteA few things that come to mind right now...
He listens to all my crazy stories I come up with to write about.
He loves me for me.
His smile and blue eyes...lol
The last one is important too. :D
DeleteLove this idea and I have the perfect journal to write in -- I made the cover from copies of restaurant menus, tickets, and notes from our first few dates. I love the way my husband looks at me, I love the way he smells, I love that he accepted my teen son as his own, I love that he is child-like (not childish). I love how he learned all the physical therapy needed when I became ill -- so he could help me at home. I love how he holds my hand, he turns off the radio when I'm talking, and I love how he cleans the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteThis melts my heart: that he accepted my teen son as his own. Awe!! That's such a blessing!
DeleteThank you! A wonderful blessing!!!
DeleteI'm in!! I love this challenge. Thank you
ReplyDeleteGreat! I'm going to add a few more this week to my list.
DeleteThe way we can share a silent joke from across the room, listening to him say a prayer with our 3 yr old son every night before he tucks him into bed, the way he likes to dance with me in the kitchen, his dimples when he smiles :D
ReplyDeleteOkay, the dimples totally rock, but so does praying with your son and dancing in the kitchen. Those are all amazing things!! Wait--the joke across the room... I love that too! LOL
DeleteThis post has inspired me to create my own list!
ReplyDeleteI'm giving you credit for the idea though. :)
That's awesome, I'm glad I've inspired!
DeleteWow this is wonderful. I have lots of ideas from reading your post and all the comments. Thank you Darlene you are an inspiration (as always :-D)
ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome! Thank YOU for stopping by!
DeleteThe way he puts his arm around me in church.
ReplyDeleteHe makes the bed every morning.
The way he holds my hand when we pray.
He plays Words with Friends with me when we are in the same room!
He always loved and respected my parents while they were alive and continues to honor their memory now.
Such beautiful acts of love!!
Delete-He randomly put his hand on my leg when he is driving
ReplyDelete-The fact that he will always call me by my full first name (not shortening it)
- The fact that he plans dates based off of events around town
- He watches kids movies with me (even though we have no kids)
- That when I really want something he immediately thinks of ways I can have it (he sometimes will build it, search for it online for a deal, or just straight up buys it for me!
So cool! One time my husband bought me an amazing purse online. Here's a link. It's a lot like this one:

What a wonderful idea!!! I must do this! Thanks for this idea! My husband works on a week, off a week. On the day he comes home from being away a week, there is always flowers on the table when I get home :)
ReplyDeleteI love that my husband prays over me in the mornings before he leaves for work. I don't usually wake up, but I love waking to the feeling of his hand on my forehead as he prays.
ReplyDeleteHave I told you how much I love Michael too?!? Your husband is an all-star in my book!
