Oh, I so agree! I was blessed to marry my best friend and nearly 30 years later he is STILL my best friend. We just have to remember what friendship is, and what it isn't, and it *isn't* never communicating, never sharing, never being loving, and never saying "I'm sorry, will you forgive me."
ReplyDeleteAfter my first child was born we sort of lost our friendship awhile, and it frightened me. While I was feeling love for him I wasn't feeling "in love." I confused a feeling with an action, and my actions and intentions were towards my children.
But God gave me an awesome man who understand how tired I was, and how my body was still adjusting to a new baby, and he understood my feelings and emotions better than I did at that time.
And I understood that love was in the action, not the emotion. As I acted, my emotions followed.
Well, I've hijacked your blog enough. This just caused me to do a little reflecting, lol!
Thank you so much! I'm actually here building our ministry blog but I came across this post and it gave me a new perspective on my marriage! God is good. What you are doing here is an inspiration to us!
